I enjoyed both parts of your "Life of an Expat" essay. I have to say, home is where my husband and dog are. Except ... I have 3 adult children back in the greater Chicago area, so that is my other home! It's o.k. to have more than one, right?
I'm glad I had my dog before moving to Zurich - it's made life here feel more "normal". And Lucky loves it - life is good for a dog in Switzerland!
Some expat friends moved back to the U.S. this summer, so I inherited a few appliances - it's making life easier and serving to cement the fact that (for now) this is home!
Thanks. Glad you enjoyed the series. It's great that home can be where your family is. And yes, I think a person is lucky when they can have more than one home.
