What the French do during lunch

On a typical workday, while Americans are eating a Subway sandwich at their desk, the French are doing this:

They are learning to cook a gourmet meal and then eating their creations (complete with wine and espresso) at different cooking classes across Paris. And then, two hours later, they just head back to the office. C'est normal, n'est-ce pas?

I've come to the conclusion that we as Americans are doing something wrong. You?

Agreed! I wish that I could take a cooking class, eat delicious food and then just head back to work. When will Americans learn? :)

I don't know. All we can hope for is that Americans stop putting up with the 5-minute lunch by doing another French thing: going on strike.

Oh man, that's life. I'd take the French-style lunch hour(s) any minute.

The French wouldn't blame you. Many of the French people I had cooked with do these lunchtime courses all the time. Sigh.

What can I learn to do on my 30 minute lunch break? Chipotle burrito wrapping 101?

30 minute lunch breaks. This is what's wrong with America :)

Mais bien sur c'est normal! I just learned that Olivier's best friend goes to a cooking school like that almost every day for lunch since it's right by his office. Pourquoi pas ?!

Hi Kerrin, good to know that my take-away of the situation was correct...I still find it amazing. We Americans sure are doing something wrong.
